Fake vs. True Identity (112B01)

Someone with a fake identity could be defined as someone who acts differently to each social community to be known well by the community. Many people in this world, especially in terms of man, have a fake identity that could be considered as hypocrites. Having a fake identity is similar to becoming a chameleon where they will always try to adjust themselves by blending themselves to the surroundings. A man who always tries to fake himself will never be a successful since he would easily lost his identity and not knowing the right standard. Such man will also never become a true man since he does not have the courage to stand for what is right, but rather hiding himself from the problem by faking his identity.
Many people today, especially the teenagers, live by hypocrisy since they would like people to accept them; in addition, the world are practicing the idea of uniformity through having the trends such that many people would follow the current trend to be considered up to date or cool. Many people do not realize that by faking themselves through fake identity, they would slowly lose their original identity; consequently, they will not live a peaceful life since they will always need to adjust and blend themselves to their surroundings.
People should understand that God created us for a unique purpose and calling in our life which is based on our identity. When we are using a fake identity means that we are faking our life in order to blend with other people and slowly losing our self-identity; therefore, we also lose our purpose and calling that God gave to us. Without any purpose and calling, our life would be a meaningless life; a life without purpose. As a Christian, we should therefore, live according to our unique identity and calling that God have instill in every single one of us. To understand more about our identity and calling, we should build our relationship with God and we also should study and meditate the Word of God. However, not blending with others does not mean that we should alienate ourselves from the world, rejecting and ignoring other people since Social life is very important. Maintaining our self-identity means that we, as a Christian, should stand for what is right and act according to who we are genuinely while we socialize with other people; moreover, we should not socialize with those people who opposes our belief rather than changing our believe for the sake of such people. This way, we would be able to live a righteous and meaningful life according to God's unique purpose and calling for each one of us.
As a personal application, I still often live by having a fake identity where I act differently in different groups of people or in a different community. All I ever think is to please all people which I will not be able to do without being a hypocrite and without losing my self-identity that God have given to me along with my calling. As a Christian man, I should bravely live by my true identity while maintaining my social life; I should not compromise my true identity to please anyone in any particular community. On the other hand, I should build my relationship with God by spending my time with God more often and I should also continue studying the Word of God so that I would understand God's unique purpose and calling for me.
As a conclusion, maintaining our self-identity is really important so that we don't lose our unique identity and calling that God has given to each one of us. When we try to please other people by using a fake identity, we could slowly loose our identity and calling. When this happen, our life would be meaningless since there is no clear purpose in our life besides trying to please other people by fake identities. To maintain our identity and live according to God's unique purpose, we should build a good relationship with God and we should also have a strong conviction such that we stand strong for what we believe. Galatians 1:10 says, "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." This Bible verse means that we should live to please God's unique purpose for us, but not to please man.
