In many period of the antiquity, people often worship the wrong god and goddesses. That happens because when people don’t know how to explain something, they will make a God for that particular thing. When they make another God, they rebel against God, because God have said clearly that he don’t want any other God except Him. In this journal I will specifically talk about the antiquity false belief.
Worshipping false god is a very foolish thing to do in life. It says in Psalm 2: 1 – 4 “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed saying, let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.” This verse shows that if we act foolish by rebelling to God, he will easily destroy us no matter how strong we are. We must remember that God have saved us from the Egyptians and he has warned us also through one of the Ten Commandments that we should not have any idols except God. Numbers 32: 23 also says “For they said unto me, Make is gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.” The people in the antiquity belief very seriously in so many magic and also seriously belief many other idols, therefore they are foolish and almost most of them doesn’t exist anymore until today except the Hebrews which God loves. In the world today magic and illusions are used for entertainment, but it is also not good, because magic is the attempt to use ritual, mechanics, temptation, or rules in order to manipulate God and nature that God created. For the self application, I learned from the people of the antiquity that I as a human being should obey God at all time, or else I will get diminished. I should obey whatever God told me to do so that I could also benefit others life by my obedience. I will obey my parents because by obeying my parents, I will also obey God.
For the conclusion, in many period of the antiquity, people often worship the wrong god and goddesses. When they make another God, they rebel against God, because God have said clearly that he don’t want any other God except Him. Because I’m not a foolish person, I will not rebel against God. Those foolish people that rebel against God in the antiquity time and worshipped different kinds of idols doesn’t exist anymore today no matter how strong they or their gods and goddesses are because God is always the strongest against all, so I should obey God so that I don’t get diminished.
